Happy Holidays from the Hennibaugh family!

For those of you who did not receive a Holiday card from Elaine and me, better luck next year. However, I did not want to deprive anyone of Elaine and my top notch Photoshopping skillz. So we decided to post an electronic copy for the world to see. Enjoy, be kind to one another, have a safe Holiday season, and may 2013 make 2012 feel inadequate through it's awesomeness.

A highly productive day

 Or, a list of 5 things I did today:

1. Watched numerous episodes of “Master’s of Ink”
2. Got the struts replaced on Maude the Mazda (which my wife informed me didn't make a difference) - $900 well spent.
3. Drank several cups of coffee
4. Got the snowblower ready for Drauco's impending arrival
5. Finished all my grading

Thirty Things I Have Learned in My First Thirty Years

1.       You will make people mad, you should apologize

2.       People will make you mad, you should accept their apology

3.       Giving 100% to everything has never worked well for me. I think you should give as much effort as is necessary for you to obtain the results you want

4.       Staying for one more drink is always a good idea, staying for four more might get you in trouble

5.       Your parents are doing their best, you didn’t come with a manual

6.       It is ok to “dabble” in something, not everything needs to be your new love

7.       Once you find something you really enjoy, it is OK to make it a focus

8.       It is fine to quit something, just don’t make it a habit

9.       College is going to be awesome

10.   High School is really just a practice run for life

11.   There comes a point when you realize you are officially an adult, mine was when my basement flooded and I had to deal with it, without my parents help

12.   There are rarely finite answers in life, that is a blessing more often than a curse

13.   Try to under-promise and over-deliver

14.   If you have never looked at bank account and said, “Crap, I don’t think I have enough money for the month”, you have never really lived

15.   When you think about blowing off work, think about what it felt like to have no money in your bank account

16.   People will break your heart and you will break theirs'. It is the nature of things.

17.   It is fine to be bad at things

18.   The statement, “I just can’t wait to be done with college, I am so busy”, is a dumb statement. You will never have so much free time again in your life

19.   Especially if you expect to have kids and a job (I am basing this on the plethora of Facebook complaints about kids making parents tired and busy)

20.   Given the choice between kids and pets, I choose pets

21.   Given the choice between a spouse who wants kids or a spouse that wants pets, I choose the spouse that wants pets

22.   I am very happy with my life choices

23.   You should drink to excess and eat at a buffet every once in awhile…to remember why you don’t do it all the time

24.   If you have a life goal of running a marathon, you should probably start by going for a run

25.   If you don’t want people to wipe orange cheese on your couch, don’t give them Cheetos (this was Elaine’s)

26.   Most times there is no wrong decision, just make one

27.    No matter how amazing of a lecture you give, there will always be a student texting on their phone

28.   You were most likely that student at one point, don’t take it personally

29.   The easy choice is not always the best

30.   Accepting compliments is a skill most people woefully lack
